30 Things To Do Before Turning 30

30 things to do before turning 30

If there’s anything I’ve learned in the last six months of quarantine, it’s that there is no time to kill. Or maybe that was Clint Black?

As I approach year 23, I decided to list all things I want to complete before turning 30. What better way to be held accountable than posting it on the internet for everyone to see?

Footloose and fancy-free, these are the 30 things I want to do before turning 30.

  1. Visit all 50 states
  2. Take a cooking class
  3. Buy a French bulldog
  4. Kentucky Derby… and if I’m lucky, wear the most obnoxious hat
  5. Backpack across Europe
  6. Sew a quilt
  7. Halloween in Salem
  8. Run a 10k
  9. Attend a musical on Broadway
  10. Write 150 blog posts
  11. Take my grandma kayaking
  12. Pay off my car
  13. Buy a house
  14. Side hustle at $1K/month
  15. Spend more time with family
  16. Get involved with a cause
  17. St. Paddy’s Day in Ireland
  18. Take a spontaneous road trip
  19. Oktoberfest in Germany
  20. Take a dance class
  21. Learn woodworking
  22. Go sailing
  23. Spend a summer in Seattle
  24. Learn another language
  25. Try being a vegetarian for 1 month — ok maybe a week
  26. Plant my own garden
  27. Become a mentor to someone in my field
  28. Cut out single use plastics
  29. Do an overnight (or really long) hike
  30. See the Northern Lights

If you know me well, you were probably hoping to read that I was planning to cut down on the dad jokes, or maybe quit singing in the car…. instead, I want to focus on traveling. I want to set goals that allow me to see the world and learn lifelong skills. With a little over 7 years to do so, I hope to grow from each experience; and maybe I’ll throw in some voice lessons to make my singing in the car a little more worthwhile.
