q1 report 2026

Shoutout to my one subscriber who requested I bring the R.E.P.O.R.T.s back – you know who you are! Q1 was one for the books, and it was hard to nail down exactly what I wanted to share.

Reading

Test results!

I had the privilege of planning a gender reveal this month for two very close friends of mine. And let me tell you – it was a blessing and a curse. As someone who is terrible at keeping exciting news to myself, this was my personal hell. However, it was everything to plan such a significant surprise for people I really care about.

I had a 4-day-long adrenaline rush. Words cannot describe the combination of excitement and relief I felt after the grand reveal. It was such an honor, but I probably won’t ever want to do it again.

Eating

Belgian waffles. I haven’t gone one day without thinking about them.

I unfortunately cannot say no to a sweet, and the accessibility made it that much harder. And the answer is yes – I’ve been looking at ways to relocate to Belgium based on this alone.

Playing

A little disc golf, a lot of walking (shout out to the sun making its grand return), some incredible travel, zoo visits, coffee dates, and some nostalgic games (dominoes + Mario are so back).

I’ve also enjoyed getting back into blogging. Even if they don’t all make it out into the big bad web, I’ve worked up quite a library of drafts.

Obsession

Walkable cities and proper public transportation.

I once learned that US cities were structured the way they are to drive demand for cars (can’t help but wonder if big oil had any say, L O L). And honestly, it is such a disservice. Getting a taste of walkability in cities like Boston and New York was incredible, but venturing even further, where cars are actually foreign on the streets, made me appreciate this so much more. I hope someday I get to experience living in a city that’s built around convenience in this lifetime.

Recommendation

A hair wax stick. I tend to be late to the trends, but the slick back bun was the move on our Euro-trip, and actually every bad hair day since. As a curly girly, I have always been a victim of humidity. This actually alleviated 99% of the travel hair stress.

Even if I look like an egg on a majority of the days I use it, it is still one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

*Bonus recommendation – a drying rack for your clothes. I wish I still had the luxury of air-drying my clothes on the clothesline, but I don’t think my neighbors have any interest in seeing my underwear. A collapsible drying rack is ideal for apartment living, and hopefully extends my clothes’ lifetime just a little bit.

Treating

New bag alert! I feel I’ve outgrown the backpack stage of my life, and the bag I’d been using to tote my work items around couldn’t take the heat and started falling apart. And as you know, it’s bad feng shui to hold onto things that are broken. So I took the sign that I needed a new one. I snagged this tote from Quince, and I am obsessed! I highly recommend it, especially if you can snag it while it’s still on sale. I love a quality item without the flash, and this was just the thing.
