Must Eat Places in Telluride, Colorado

Telluride, also known as To-Hell-You-Ride, is a beautiful ski town in southwest Colorado. This ski town houses some of the best restaurants I’ve ever experienced in the Rocky Mountains.

Best Places to Eat in Telluride, CO

1. Smuggler-Union Brewery & Restaurant

If you’re looking for the best fries in Telluride, look no further. No really – they’re so good.

Smuggler’s is always our first stop when we get to Telluride because there’s nothing better than burgers and beer after a long day of traveling… right? Everything we’ve had here is good, but we can’t leave without an order of fries and their bacon + chive + cheddar croquetas (and you shouldn’t, either).

On top of that, they have a pretty killer beer list that are all brewed in house.

2. Floradora Saloon

food | location

Telluride’s Original Restaurant , Floradora Saloon has a relaxed, western-style atmosphere.

Their menu changes seasonally, but always has a great variety of options to keep everyone happy. The last couple of times we went, I had some sort of lavender and gin Moscow mule that was seriously to die for – if you ever see it on their menu, it’s in your best interest to order it.

If you’re lucky, you’ll get to meet the owners who still work there today!

3. The West End Bistro at The Hotel Telluride

3 words: Pan Seared Salmon

The Hotel Telluride is a little off the main strip in Telluride, but their Pan Seared Salmon entree and Shishito Pepper appetizer are so worth it.

I cannot confirm or deny whether or not I licked this plate clean.

4. Baked in Telluride

food | location

Honestly, it’s the breakfast of champions.

I’m embarrassed to say I have never ordered from their menu because their elaborate case of donuts, croissants, muffins, and bagels don’t really give my eyes a chance to focus on anything else. Their potato, egg and cheese to-go burrito is my all-time favorite.

5. Brown Dog Pizza

food | location

Brown Dog has good pizza… it’s as simple as that. However, it’s one of the more lively places to hang out in the evenings if you’re looking to socialize.

6. Siam

food | location

Thai food… you know the drill. You order takeout and break it up over the next 3 meals. You can’t go wrong with Chicken Pad Thai, but there’s is seriously some of the best.

Depending on when you go, there could be a really long wait so it’s best to order in advance.

7. New Sheridan Chop House

food | location

The New Sheridan Chop House is the only place in the world where I can say I have eaten all three meals in one day…. intentionally. It’s just that good. And honestly, they just kept getting better.

Visiting Telluride

Telluride is for two kinds of people… skiers and dog people. It’s rich in mining history and the mountain views are out of this world. However, it is super pricey so if you’re in my tax bracket, you’ll want to set some money aside before your trip.

If you’re looking to bring your dog, be sure to do your research on flying with a pet.
